College, our time is almost through.

After 4 years in school, I'm proud to say that it's almost OVER for undergrad. I'm still trying to decide on grad school.

This semester has been a bit overwhelming and it has become hard to stay motivated. Mostly because the classes this semester are so boring. They're not too hard or anything but everything is just so boring and I have some older teachers (60+) this semester so it seems like everything is moving so slow. Prayerfully this will mean only A's and B's.

The only way I'm able to get motivated and stay up and get through the day is just constantly thinking about my future. I'm content in where I'm at now. I'm healthy, educated, alive, in my right mind and I'm very appreciative to God for that. But I just know there's something more for me and more I'm supposed to have and I'm just remaining patient but at the same time, I just want to go get it!

Another February 14th, another lonely Valentine's Day. Lol. I'm in my 20's and I've never had one before. But I hope all the lovers are having a wonderful day. Love is such a beautiful thing... So I hear... :)

Be good to me 2016!

Every time around late December, everyone starts with the slogan "New Year, New Me." I'll be going on 4 years in college this year and it's been a learning experience. I haven't had the best grades but I've learned so many lessons and character and maturity wise, I've come a long way. I've been betrayed, lied on, heartbroken, broke, laughed at talked about, disrespected and lots of other things. But I haven't been the best person myself.

I'm tired of living the same just to get the same results. I'm ready for something different, something better. I have so many ideas going on in my head and I just want to make them happen. I'm honestly over school. I'm not really a good student but I am trying to finish strong. I have lots and dreams and goals though. I want to pay off my parent's mortgage and own a bunch of small businesses and build up the city where I live now.

My mom tells me not to focus so much on the money and not to chase it. I don't think I do but I don't think there is anything wrong with being financially rich. And it's not like I'm a selfish person. Even when I have a little, I still give it and help people out when I can. I might not have it today, but one day.

I'm hoping this year will be a year of turn around. I might not get rich but I just want more out of this life that God has blessed me with.

I hope you all have a prosperous 2016.

North Carolina Teen Could Face 10 Years in Prison for Sexting Girlfriend

One North Carolina teen is facing 10 years in prison for having nude pictures of himself on his own cell phone, ABC11 reports. Cormega Copening, 17, of Fayetteville, is being charged as an adult with second-degree and third-degree sexual exploitation after police found images sent between he and his girlfriend last fall.

Authorities say it is illegal for individuals under the age of 18 to possess nude images or to send them with a cell phone. "If you are under the age of 18 and disseminate pictures of yourself or receive pictures of someone under that age, it falls under the sexual exploitation of minors' statute," North Carolina's Cumberland County Sergeant Sean Swain told The Independent.

Officers took Copening's phone last fall while investigating an incident at his high school, which is still unclear, according to various news reports. Although he was not charged, he and his 16-year-old girlfriend were both brought up on felony charges when the images were found. Her charges were lowered to misdemeanors after she took a plea deal. As a result, she must complete a year-long probation.

Copening will appear in court on Sept. 30. If he is convicted, he will have to register as a sex offender. Copening has already been dropped from his high school football team.
Some are questioning whether these teens are being treated too harshly since the messages were sent privately between two minors.

21-year-old mother accidentally killed

Via Ballerallert:

A 21-year-old mother was shot and killed in crossfire outside a bar while allegedly handing out CDs to promote her boyfriend's album.

Ashlee Berryman had been watching her boyfriend perform inside the Braza Bar and Grill in Everett, Massachusetts, on Thursday before she died. She had just left the venue around 1am when she was reportedly shot twice in the parking lot. The victim's sister told the Boston Globe that one of the bullets struck Berryman's heart.

Prosecutors said that Berryman was an “unintended target’’ in the shooting, which was one of five overnight homicides in the Greater #Boston area.

Berryman, who just turned 21 last month, leaves behind a three-year-old son.
So far, no arrests have been made.

Faux Locs

Faux (pronounced "foe") Locs are becoming a very popular protective style! You get the look of dreads without the actual commitment of growing them out. I have seen this done with Marley braid hair and also yarn & both look great!!

The most irritating thing about the locs are the burnt ends at the bottom that makes the hair stick together, but other than that, you can do anything with them. All down, all up, big bun, half up, half down, and the list goes on.

If you have any questions, leave them in the comment area below:
