Todd Family Laid to Rest

This extremely emotional picture of eight coffins lined for the funeral services of The Todd family has been circulating on the Internet and it left me very heavy hearted.

Rodney Todd, a 36-year old father and his seven children, Cameron,13; Zycheim, 7; Tynijuiza, 15; Tykira, 12; Tybree, 10; Tyania, 9; and Tybria 6; silently passed away after being poisoned with carbon monoxide as they slept through the night. Rodney Todd divorced from his ex-wife in November and had been raising his children.

The family's power was cut on March 25 due to safety issues when the Delmarva Power Company located a stolen meter, contrary to the beliefs of the family thinking the power was cut due to a delinquent bill. In order to preserve heat and light, Rodney went and bought a generator and it was reported the family passed away from carbon monoxide inhalation on March 28, three days after their power was cut.

Unfortunately, their bodies were not found until April 6 when family and friends grew worried about their whereabouts.

Services were held on Saturday at the Ella Fitzgerald Percorming Arts Center which is on the campus of University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where Rodney Todd worked in the dining services department.
